Glenn Maxwell


Glenn James Maxwell is an Australian cricketer who plays One Day International and TwentyInternational matches for Australia. In 2011, he set the record for the fastest ever halfcentury in Australian domestic one day cricket, scoring 50 runs offballs. In February 2013, the Indian Premier League team the Mumbai Indians bought him formillion US, and in March he made his Test debut against India in the second Test at Hyderabad. In 2015, Maxwell signed with County cricket team Yorkshire.

Maxwell was born in Kew, Victoria, and played his junior cricket for South Belgrave CC. He began his cricket as a pace bowler, before remodelling his runup and becoming an off spin bowler. Despite that, he also has a deceptively powerful and accurate throw to effect runouts. He also effected the runout of Tim Southee in the 2015 Cricket World Cup final to end New Zealands innings, which helped Australia win their 5th title.
